Advanced Welding Certificate

The Advanced Welding Certificate helps provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and develop technical skills needed to progress in the welding industry beyond entry-level employment. The graduate will be proficient in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, OAW, PAC and GTAW procedures, mathematic calculations, reading blueprints and safety operations.

Admission requirements

The Advanced Welding Certificate is an open-enrollment program, meaning there are no criteria students must meet to be admitted. If you're interested in enrolling in this program, complete our steps to enroll, which includes completing the free application for admission.

We encourage all prospective students to visit campus. We have several Explore Sandburg open houses throughout the year, or you can schedule a campus visit at your convenience.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a 14% employment growth of pipe-fitters and steam-fitters from now to 2028. The increase in employment is expected due to workers exiting the labor force for due to retirement or seeking new occupations. 2019 median pay: $55,160 per year; $26.52 per hour

Scholarships
